Remote Interim Bank Regulatory Counsel
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Bank Regulatory Counsel. Overview: Our client is seeking a well-qualified Interim Bank Regulatory Counsel for a three-month consulting opportunity. Company: Our client is a global financial institution. Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience focused on core bank regulations. Location: Remote, East Coast hours Responsibilities Include: This is a high-profile initiative focused on reviewing a major regulation issued by federal banking agencies (Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC). The agencies are expected to release a comprehensive rule—approximately 1,500 pages—for public comment, known as the Basel III Endgame Proposal, which outlines capital requirements for banks. Given the significance, this project will attract substantial attention from regulators, industry stakeholders, and financial media. The Interim Bank Regulatory Counsel will help (i) read the rule; (ii) draft summary notes; (iii) help frame key issues for discussion; (iv) summarize discussion from the calls and draft take-aways/talking points; (v) help draft briefing material and updates on the rule. Qualifications Include: • J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the United States; • Candidates should have proven experience with core bank regulations; • Ability to read, understand, comprehend, and communicate clearly about laws, regulations, rulings, and interpretive guidance; and • Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with internal clients, external counsel, and government agency officials. Pay Rate: The hourly rate for this position ranges from $90 to $100, depending on experience.
