As an Intake Attorney, you will serve as the first legal decision-maker for prospective clients navigating highly sensitive family law matters. You will assess facts, identify legal issues, and guide clients with clarity and confidence—while ensuring alignment with firm standards and Michigan law.

What You’ll Do
• Conduct initial legal consultations with prospective family law clients
• Identify and assess legal issues involving divorce, custody, support, and related matters
• Provide accurate, policy-aligned legal guidance under Michigan law
• Exercise professional judgment in evaluating case fit and next steps
• Build immediate trust through empathy, confidence, and clear communication
• Maintain thorough, organized, and confidential intake documentation
• Collaborate closely with intake staff and legal operations to ensure continuity
• Serve as a professional ambassador for the firm at every first point of contact
The Ideal Candidate
• Active Michigan Bar license in good standing (required)
• 1+ year of experience practicing law (Family Law experience - required)
• Strong legal judgment and issue-spotting skills
• Excellent verbal communication and client-facing presence
• Highly organized and comfortable working in a remote, structured environment
• Able to handle emotionally charged matters with discretion and professionalism
• Self-directed, yet collaborative and process-oriented
