The Insurance Advisor Trainee-Affinity role involves learning to serve as a personal insurance advisor, assisting customers with insurance coverages and fostering long-term relationships. This position includes a comprehensive training program focused on Travelers personal lines insurance products and requires obtaining necessary insurance licenses.ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully complete a comprehensive paid training program in a classroom setting with ongoing support and resources, gaining knowledge of Travelers personal lines insurance productsLearn to communicate the value of the Affinity relationship to the customer by highlighting key benefits, such as exclusive discounts and the convenience of Affinity payroll deductionProvide one-on-one insurance coverage guidance, connect current customers to additional Travelers products and services, and handle inbound and outbound calls in a call center environmentPositively represent Travelers with integrity by answering inbound phone calls to determine the appropriate insurance products and coverages for our Affinity customersCommunicate effectively and professionally with Affinity customers verbally and via emailAcquire comprehensive product, underwriting, and sales expertise to counsel and sell Travelers insurance products, while consistently meeting quality, efficiency, underwriting and sales metricsReceive and implement constructive feedback in the form of professional coachingHandles objections professionally while clearly articulating relevant product, benefits, and value to the consumerThis role is not responsible for cold calls or lead generationSuccessfully obtain and maintain Property and Casualty or Personal Lines license in resident state as well as all required non-resident licenses in each state that business is conducted within six months of date of hireMaintain continuing education requirements for the Property and Casualty or Personal Lines license obtainedPerform other duties as assignedSkillsHigh school diploma or GEDIncumbents must obtain a Property and Casualty or Personal Lines Insurance producer license within first 4 weeks of employment dateSuccessfully obtain and maintain Property and Casualty or Personal Lines license in resident state as well as all required non-resident licenses in each state that business is conducted within six months of date of hireEach state will evaluate any/all criminal and financial background incidents to determine license eligibilityFailure to pass the licensing exam within two attempts as well as the inability to obtain any required licenses within six (6) months from date of hire may result in termination of employmentA Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is a plusPrior call center and sales experiencePersonal Insurance product knowledgeStrong verbal and written communication skillsAble to multi-task within a high-volume sales center environment and make appropriate business decisions quicklyAble to demonstrate a positive and professional demeanorAdaptable to changeStrong math and problem-solving skillsBenefitsHealth InsuranceRetirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
