[Remote] Industrial Water Resource Engineer

Futures is seeking an Industrial Water Resource Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team, focusing on sustainable water management across multi-site operations. The role involves overseeing the lifecycle of water and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading innovative water reuse projects.ResponsibilitiesLead comprehensive water resource management, covering potable water intake through wastewater dischargeDevelop and maintain operating practices for water and wastewater systems across all sitesOversee water quality specifications and implement preferred water technologies for manufacturing processesManage water conditioning, utility systems, and company wastewater treatment infrastructureEnsure full compliance with local, state, and federal water regulationsCollaborate on permitting requirements, conduct audits, and oversee sampling programsMaintain accurate data tracking and regulatory documentationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate water and glycol technologiesLead new process deployments and scale-up projectsSupport construction and remodel projects to ensure water system complianceDevelop specifications, evaluate vendors, and make informed purchasing decisionsPerform technical assessments, design calculations, and data analysisDesign and implement water reuse projects from concept to commercializationCreate process flow diagrams, P&ID, mass balances, and technical documentationConduct bench testing and pilot development programsAbility to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodationMust have regular and punctual attendancePerform all other duties as assignedSkills2+ years of engineering, supervisory, or leadership experience (food processing preferred)Hands-on experience with water treatment processes and/or system design, including: coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, membrane filtration, biological treatment, and disinfection systemsKnowledge of industrial wastewater pretreatment and primary treatment methodsExperience with developing and documenting operating practices for water treatment systemsMicrosoft Office Suite, and understanding of HMI/SCADA systems, proficiency in 2D & 3D Cad Software is a plusAbility to read electrical schematics is a plusStrong people-centric leadership approach with ability to develop and mentor team membersStrong understanding of environmental regulations in industrial settingsExcellent problem-solving and organizational abilitiesOutstanding communication skills across all organizational levelsProven ability to present technical information clearly and conciselyCommitment to continuous learning and team developmentThis role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires flexibility to work various hours, including weekends when neededSeeking a candidate with 2+ years of progressive experience in water systems engineering, operations, or leadership roles, ideally within food processing or similar industrial manufacturing environmentBachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
