This role offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to gain valuable experience with an established firm. The attorney will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney, manage their caseload, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. Duties • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions. • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. • Manage a workload of diverse cases. • Conduct intake with detained individuals at centers. • Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions. • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed. • Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes. • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients. • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony. • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases. Requirements • At least 3-5 years of immigration law experience. • Team player open to collaboration and strategizing with associates. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases. • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications. • Experience with case management software preferred. Education • Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications • Admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico. Skills • Strong legal analysis and strategic planning skills. • Excellent communication and presentation abilities. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
