This role focuses on executing business objectives through data, managing a team, and providing insights to inform the company's strategic direction.ResponsibilitiesManage a team of 5-6+ individuals supporting the analytics, reporting and data governance activity for work related to Member Identification/Stratification (ID/STRAT), Attribution/Program Assignment, Data Extracts/Sharing, Population Health Management, Predictive Modeling and Program EvaluationManage a team with a focus on the development of analytics capabilities across the company, including self-service capabilities through technology implementation, best practices and trainingEnsure team members serve as a trusted advisor to clients on analytics and dataInterpret statistical analyses and help clients derive meaning from themDevelop and deliver presentations and reports of analytic findingsDevelop hypotheses and research questions to address clients' needsConduct a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods analyses to answer clients' research questionsDevelop analytic frameworks and select appropriate analytic methods to answer clients' research questionsPartner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and with internal and/or external resources to develop tools and services such as segmentation, modeling, dashboard development, decision aids, and business case analysis to support the organizationUses multiple data sets to create reports and data presentations, and eventually creating data dashboards, for leadership and managerial useSkillsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience5 years Progressive experience relating to data analytics/data analysis1-year Supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive experienceStrong quantitative and qualitative skillsKnowledge and understanding of analytical tools, such as SAS, Excel, SQLExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAbility to train othersMust be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellenceMust be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challengingMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without SponsorshipMaster's DegreeData Management\Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or Data Management\MapR Certified Data AnalystConceptual data and cloud architecture - understands major native data components in Azure and/or AWS and their relationships and use casesMastery of relational database theory including SQL and at least one major RDBMSWell versed in Big Data scenarios and applicationsExperience with multiple analytics delivery tools, methods, and platforms including PowerBI and/or TableauUnderstanding of Advanced Analytics use cases and the applications of AI/ML for predictive analyticsExperience in building and managing high-performing analytics teams that can deliver work consistently and transparently to our business partners, both internal and externalPrior healthcare analytics experience is a mustBenefitsIn addition to your compensation, CareFirst offers a comprehensive benefits package, various incentive programs/plans, and 401k contribution programs/plans (all benefits/incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).We are looking for an experienced professional to live and work remotely from within the greater Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area.The incumbent will be expected to come into a CareFirst location periodically for meetings, training and/or other business-related activitiesCompany OverviewCareFirst.
