[Remote] IBM PD Migration Consultant

Aptino, Inc. is seeking an experienced IBM PD Migration Consultant to lead and support the migration, upgrade, and modernization of IBM Problem Determination Tools environments on IBM z/OS platforms. The role involves assessing existing environments, designing migration strategies, executing tool upgrades, and collaborating with various teams to minimize business disruption.ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and execute migrations of IBM Problem Determination Tools across z/OS environmentsAnalyze existing tool configurations and dependencies to develop migration strategiesInstall, configure, upgrade, and validate IBM PD Tools componentsMigrate and verify settings, repositories, user configurations, and operational proceduresPerform impact assessments and compatibility analysis for new releases and system upgradesDevelop migration runbooks, technical documentation, and rollback proceduresTroubleshoot migration-related issues and provide root cause analysisCollaborate with application development, infrastructure, and operations teams during migration activitiesConduct testing, validation, and post-migration health checksSupport performance tuning and optimization activitiesEnsure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and change management processesProvide knowledge transfer and training to support and operations teamsSkillsStrong experience with IBM Problem Determination (PD) Tools, including: Fault Analyzer, Debug Tool, Application Performance Analyzer, File Manager, Workload Simulator (if applicable)Experience with IBM z/OS environmentsKnowledge of: JCL, ISPF, TSO, SMP/E, RACF, CICS, DB2, IMSExperience with mainframe software installation and maintenanceUnderstanding of migration methodologies, release management, and change control processesAbility to analyze logs, dumps, traces, and diagnostic dataCompany OverviewWelcome to Aptino where we combine APTITUDE of talent, skills, and expertise with INNOVATION of continuous change and transformation to deliver the highest quality of total talent strategies and results.
