This role involves providing HR partnership and employee relations support, coaching managers, handling complex employee relations matters, and collaborating with various HR functions to enhance employee experience and operational needs.ResponsibilitiesPartnering with assigned leaders and business areas to provide practical HR guidance and employee relations supportRegular travel in order to maintain appropriate onsite presence and support for all CA education program locationsHandling mid-level to more complex employee relations matters involving manager coaching, performance management, conflict resolution, recurring issues, multi-step concerns, workplace investigations or higher operational impactCoaching managers on performance concerns, corrective action, documentation, communication, accountability and employee relations best practicesConducting or supporting workplace investigations, including planning, interviews, documentation, findings support and recommended next stepsProviding guidance on ADA/accommodation matters, policy application, corrective action, performance management, employee concerns and workplace conductIdentifying employee relations trends and operational people issues and recommending practical solutions to assigned leaders and HR leadershipSupporting employee experience, engagement, retention, culture and manager capability initiatives for assigned business areasPartnering with leaders on organizational changes, workforce transitions, new site support, restructuring support and other people-related operational needsCollaborating with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, Compliance, Training, and Legal to support consistent and integrated HR solutionsSupporting implementation of HR initiatives, policy rollouts, manager training and employee communicationsMonitoring HR metrics, employee relations trends, turnover themes and manager support needs for assigned areasEscalating high-risk, legally sensitive, executive-level, enterprise-impact or complex matters requiring senior HR, Legal, CHRO or VP involvementPerforming other duties as assigned to support HR department and organizational objectivesSkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills testMinimum of five to seven years of progressive HR related experience required, including experience in employee relations, investigations, performance management, corrective action, ADA/accommodation processes, manager coaching and policy applicationStrong knowledge and understanding of applicable CA state licensure, certification, accreditation laws and employment regulationsHold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state drivers licenseStrong business partnership, employee relations, manager coaching, investigation, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to influence managers, identify trends, recommend practical solutions, and escalate high-risk matters appropriatelyExcellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively at all organizational levelsAbility to assess complex employee relations matters, evaluate risk, identify appropriate next steps, coach managers, recommend practical solutions and determine when senior HR, Legal, CHRO or executive escalation is neededBachelor's degree or higher in human resources, business administration or a closely related field of study preferredLicensed currently or in the process of obtaining a SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR or other HR related certification preferred but not requiredPrior experience supporting multi-site or multi-state operations highly preferredPrior experience in education, healthcare, behavioral health and/or another compliance-driven environment preferredExperience with HRIS, case management systems, reporting tools, dashboards and/or other HR related technology preferredWell-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipmentBenefitsComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision PlansFREE Telehealth and Virtual Counseling SessionsFREE Health Advocacy Services and 24/7 Nurse LineCompany Paid Life & Disability InsuranceCompany Paid Employee Assistance ProgramFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsPersonal Protection Insurance PlansCigna Healthy Pregnancies, Healthy Babies ProgramLegal Services InsurancePet Health InsuranceAccrual-based Paid Time OffSchool Hours and Paid Holiday ScheduleExtensive Personal and Life Event Paid Leave Policy401k Retirement Saving PlanPerks at Work Employee Discount ProgramOpportunities for Growth & DevelopmentCompany OverviewChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is the nationβs leading provider of alternative and special education programs for children and young adults.
