[Remote] Human Resources Business Partner
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Smith Chason College is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a key advisor to Campus Leadership and employees. The HRBP will provide hands-on support across all facets of the organization, fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws.ResponsibilitiesServe as a trusted advisor to managers and employees regarding workplace issues, employee concerns, and conflict resolutionConduct investigations related to employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace concernsProvide guidance on disciplinary actions, corrective action plans, and performance improvement processesPromote a positive employee experience and foster a culture of engagement and accountabilityFacilitate performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, evaluations, and development planningEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsInterpret and apply company policies, procedures, and best practices consistently across the organizationMaintain knowledge of changing employment laws and HR trendsSupport audits, investigations, and reporting requirements as neededAssist with leadership development and employee training initiativesPartner with leadership to improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagementContribute to the development and implementation of HR programs and initiativesSkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum of 5–7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a Human Resources Business Partner, HR Generalist, or Employee Relations roleAbility to successfully work in a remote work environmentSolid understanding of HR principles, employment law, and employee relations practicesDemonstrated successful handling of employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolutionStrong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills as well as conflict resolution, mediation and coaching abilitiesAbility to influence and build credibility with leaders and employees at all levelsExperience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgmentExcellent attention to detail and communication skillsSouthern California and Phoenix locals only; willingness to travel throughout Southern CAMust be able and willing to travel up to 25% of the time to support organizational operations, meetings, training, and multiple locations as neededMBA preferredProfessional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHRExperience supporting multiple locations, states, campuses, or business unitsExperience within higher education, healthcare, workforce development, or service-based organizations preferredCompany OverviewSmith Chason College is a postsecondary vocational college that combines a legacy of educational experience with a real commitment to student success.
