[Remote] Human Resource Generalist

The HR Generalist supports the administration of all HR services, focusing on leave of absence and benefits administration while delivering exceptional customer service to employees, managers, and HR partners.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for leave of absence and benefits administration and delivering exceptional customer service to our employees, managers, and HR partnersFamiliar with and applies the policies, plan documents and procedures of Children's in order to make leave and benefit determinations, answer customer inquiries and resolve any issuesResponsible for phone coverage of the Employee Service Center where they provide employees information on a wide variety of HR topics and triage calls to the appropriate center of excellence (COE) when neededOther responsibilities include leave of absence and benefit administration, COBRA administration, life event status changes, benefits billing, and retro benefit processing; employee status changes and reporting relationship changes and entering data into the operation systems; exhibit good customer service and de-escalation skills and follow through within required time periodsSkillsTwo-year AA degree or three years HR background w/o degreeThree years of HR Generalist experience with emphasis on benefits, disability claims or leave administration experienceKnowledge of federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements affecting employee leave of absence and benefits programs including, but not limited to: FMLA, state and local leave laws, Workers Compensation, health and welfare plans, retirement plans, COBRA and Qualified Life EventsStrong understanding of and ability to administer leave cases and benefits in accordance with Children's payroll practices, procedures and benefits plansAbility to work with a high sense of urgency and provide exceptional customer serviceAbility to manage complex and escalated issues with confidence and resultsAble to adapt to changing and often ambiguous circumstancesMust maintain confidential informationProficient in Microsoft Excel and WordBachelor's degree preferredBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefitsShift differentials or premium pay for positions that require night, weekend or on-call workCompany OverviewChildren's Minnesota is a social services group that provides care for infants and children.
