About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Home Delivery Pharmacy Technician, working remotely from Illinois or Iowa. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of prescriptions, interacting with members and patients, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Process prescription requests, including entry, billing, and submittal of customer orders to fulfillment for delivery Assist with operations support, training, and process improvements to drive team efficiency and effectiveness Contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and team content to ensure best practices Create and route pharmacy orders through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Handle inbound and outbound member/patient calls, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, and submit prescription orders in our computer system Contact members/patients/providers to validate data, request payment information, and establish priority of order or delivery details Apply knowledge and skills to a range of moderately complex activities, demonstrating great depth of knowledge in own function Act as a technical resource to others in own function, providing guidance and support as needed Proactively identify solutions to non-standard requests, solving moderately complex problems on own Work with team to solve complex problems, collaborating to achieve shared goals Plan, prioritize, organize, and complete work to meet established objectives, ensuring productivity and efficiency Provide an exceptional customer experience with every interaction, demonstrating a holistic approach to case management Essential Qualifications Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (ExCPT or PTCB) or ability to obtain prior to start date 1 year of experience working in a retail pharmacy, demonstrating a strong understanding of pharmacy operations Reside in Illinois or Iowa, with the ability to telecommute* 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Previous healthcare experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of healthcare operations and principles Call-center or telephonic work experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service Ability to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy, ensuring a safe and productive work environment What We Offer At Optum, we're committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package, career development opportunities, and a culture guided by diversity and inclusion.
