[Remote] Head of Finance

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Loot Labs, Inc is on a mission to make collecting fun through their flagship product, Boxed.gg. They are seeking a Head of Finance to take ownership of their financial ecosystem, improve forecasting accuracy, and build systems for long-term scale while working closely with the CEO and leadership team.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain complex financial models to forecast growth, hiring needs, and "what-if" scenariosSupport annual planning, budgeting, and headcount forecastingDevelop cash flow forecasting and contingency planning modelsHelp leadership understand financial tradeoffs, risks, and growth assumptionsMaintain investor-grade financial materials (models, cap table, reporting) so the business stays board- and diligence-ready at all timesOwn the reconciliation process between operations and accounting; ensure timely, accurate reconciliation across inventory, revenue, expenses, and cash flowEnsure inventory movements, COGS, and margin reporting are accurate and transparentIdentify gaps, inconsistencies, and process risks before they become larger issuesImprove visibility into company profitability, margins, and unit economicsEstablish and maintain financial controls and audit-ready processesAct as a financial partner to department leaders across the business; help teams understand budgets, spend, and performance against goalsBring structure and accountability to financial decision-making without slowing teams downTranslate financial insights into actionable recommendations for leadershipDevelop "Plan B" and "Plan C" financial frameworks to ensure the company remains resilient regardless of market shiftsAudit our current "money in/money out" processes to centralize all reporting into one professional standardManage the full cycle of month-end closing, ensuring all financial statements are GAAP compliant and board-readySkills5–10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or operational finance rolesExpert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and modern ERP/Accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage)Proven track record of managing inventory-heavy financial cyclesStrong accounting background – CPA or equivalent professional accounting designationExperience implementing finance systems or ERP toolingExperience in collectibles, e-commerce, virtual-goods, or other inventory-heavy / physical-goods businessesExperience supporting fundraising, board reporting, or investor diligenceCompany OverviewLoot Labs is based out of Seattle, backed by Bitkraft, with leadership from Microsoft, NASA, Boeing, Lucas Arts, Twitch, and 2K.
