REMOTE Hands on Software Engineering Manager - Health Tech

Salary: $180 - $220k Location/Work schedule: 100% remote Requirements: 7+ years of back-end engineering with Java + 2 years of team lead/management experience within the healthcare industry Position Overview Founded in 2015, we're a SaaS company at the intersection of healthcare and e-commerce. We're a well-funded startup that has steadily been growing at 20% over the last two years and are building out the Gen 2 version of our platform, and looking for a hands on Software Engineering Manager to lead the charge, driving the technical direction of our projects, overseeing the systems design and architecture. You will lead a team of engineers to ensure best practices in software development and delivery, while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and implementation of systems architecture and ensure alignment with business goals. • Oversee the development process, providing technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver solutions. • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering. • Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. • Manage deployment processes and optimize system performance. • Participate in the planning and execution of project timelines and deliverables. Qualifications • B.S. in Computer Science or similar • 7+ years of backend development with Java • 2+ years of technical leadership/management • MySQL or a similar database • AWS • Proven experience in systems design and architecture • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in a fast-paced development environment.
