[Remote] Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer supports the University’s creative initiatives by executing high-quality visual materials across primarily print platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.ResponsibilitiesExecute quality design work for University offices and departments under the direction of senior creative leadershipDesign brochures, flyers, postcards, posters, event collateral, signage, and other print materials in alignment with University brand standardsSupport creation of supporting digital assets (social graphics, simple display graphics, presentation layouts) as assignedMaintain strict adherence to institutional brand guidelines, typography standards, color systems, and visual identity frameworksPrepare production-ready files for print, ensuring accuracy in layout, typography, bleeds, color profiles, and file specificationsAssist in the full print production process including vendor communication, file packaging, proof review, and quality assuranceObtain and compare print bids as directed; communicate findings clearly to project managers and leadershipReview color proofs and final files for design and text accuracy prior to releaseMaintain organized file structures and proper archiving of completed projectsWork under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards and strong internal customer serviceOther duties as assignedSkillsProficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) on a Mac-based systemKnowledge AI tools (e.g. Nano Banana, ChatGPT, Topaz) that enhance efficiency, ideation, and production accuracy in the design process. Understanding of these emerging technologies to assist with concept exploration, image creation/refinement, layout variations, and production tasks under senior art directionWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for layout support and file preparationFoundational understanding of typography, layout systems, color theory, and visual hierarchyUnderstanding of print production processes and file setupAwareness of current design trends and evolving visual standardsStrong attention to detail and proofing accuracyAbility to receive direction and constructive feedback and implement revisions efficientlyClear verbal and written communication skillsProfessional and courteous demeanor with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative office environmentA visual portfolio demonstrating layout competency, brand consistency, and technical execution is requiredCommitted follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming 'born again' thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of GodAble to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian UniversityRegularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.
