Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking a Grants Writer & Administrator to coordinate the full grant lifecycle. This role involves researching funding opportunities, developing proposals, and administering awarded grants while maintaining compliance and strong relationships with funders.ResponsibilitiesResearch and identify grant opportunities from federal, state, local, foundation, and corporate sources that align with organizational prioritiesDevelop and maintain a grant pipeline, funding calendar, submissions tracker, and repository of grant documents, templates, and organizational boilerplateWrite, edit, and submit high-quality letters of inquiry, grant proposals, budgets, attachments, and supporting materials in accordance with funder requirements and deadlinesCoordinate across various departments to gather data, define project scope, develop measurable outcomes, and prepare accurate budgets and narrativesReview solicitations, applications, contracts, and award terms to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with funding guidelines and organizational policiesTrack grant deliverables, expenditures, milestones, and reporting obligations; prepare or coordinate timely submission of narrative and financial reportsMaintain strong relationships with grantmakers, agency representatives, community partners, and internal stakeholders through professional and responsive communicationMonitor trends, policy changes, and emerging funding opportunities relevant to the organization’s mission and advise leadership on strategic grant pursuitsSupport audit readiness and records retention by maintaining complete, organized, and accurate grant files and related documentationContribute to departmental planning, process improvement, and special projects related to fundraising, compliance, and organizational developmentPerform other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field requiredThree to five years of progressively responsible experience in grant research, proposal writing, grants administration, development, or a related role requiredExcellent persuasive, analytical, and technical writing skillsStrong editing and proofreading abilityExceptional attention to detailAbility to interpret complex grant guidelines and compliance requirementsSkill in prospect research and grant opportunity assessmentProficiency in budget development and basic financial analysisAbility to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneouslyStrong collaboration and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and grant management/tracking systemsAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgmentMaster's degree or specialized coursework/certification in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit management preferredGrant Professional Certification (GPC) or similar credential is preferred but not requiredDemonstrated success securing funding from foundation, corporate, local, state, and/or federal sources strongly preferredExperience coordinating cross-functional proposal development, preparing supporting documentation and budgets, maintaining grant calendars, and managing post-award reporting requirements is preferredCompany OverviewAppalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH), the Healthcare System of Appalachia, and ranked as one of the Top 10 Employers in Kentucky by Forbes Magazine, is a not-for-profit health system operating 13 hospitals in Barbourville, Hazard, Harlan, Hyden, Martin, McDowell, Middlesboro, Prestonsburg, South Williamson, West Liberty and Whitesburg in Kentucky; as well as Beckley and Hinton in West Virginia, as well as multi-specialty physician practices, home health agencies, home medical equipment stores and retail pharmacies.
