Key Responsibilities

As a Grant Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining financial integrity and compliance for grant programs. Your primary duties will include:
• Establishing grants and sub-grants for state and federal funding sources.
• Crafting and overseeing grant budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
• Managing grant finances, including tracking expenditures, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
• Ensuring compliance with grant terms, regulatory standards, and accounting principles.
• Collaborating with subcontractors to clarify and uphold grant requirements.
• Providing training and direction on grant accounting, financial management, and compliance.
• Conducting financial analyses and offering insights to improve the efficiency of grant programs.
• Assisting with grant applications, renewals, and closures, ensuring meticulous financial management.

Required Skills
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in grant accounting, ideally with consulting exposure.
• Proficiency in grant management, compliance, and reporting standards.
• Strong skills in financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex financial data and offer actionable recommendations.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to convey financial concepts clearly.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and clients.

Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Preferred certification: CPA or equivalent.
