[Remote] Global Customs & Trade Advisory Consultant

The Global Customs & Trade Advisory Consultant will support trade compliance audits, conduct data-driven analyses, and ensure clients meet regulatory requirements while strengthening their compliance skills.ResponsibilitiesConduct customs compliance audits, including reviews of entries, documents, and data integrityValidate CBP Form 7501, commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading for compliance accuracyExtract, reconcile, and analyze data from ACE reportsIdentify potential compliance gaps including valuation, FTAs, HTS classification, ADD/CVD, and PGA informationSupport HTS classification exercises and project work for clientsPrepare complete, defensible audit documentationConduct variance analysis between declared values, dutiable values, and supporting documentationAssist in drafting preliminary findings, issue logs, and risk summaries for client deliverablesMaintain version control, audit trails, and documentation structure that meets regulatory expectationsSupport project teams on compliance assessments, internal control reviews, and process improvement initiativesSkillsFoundational understanding of Customs Entry, HTS classification concepts, and tariff applicationStrong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, V/H-lookups, Power Query, data reconciliation)High attention to detail and accuracy under deadlinesStrong analytical skills and willingness to question anomaliesExcellent organizational skills, especially documentation and audit trailsAbility to manage large datasets and identify inconsistenciesExposure to import compliance, customs brokerage, ACE reporting, or trade operationsUnderstanding of valuation fundamentals (ad valorem, assists, royalties)Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, international trade, economics, or related fieldCCS or LCBBenefitsBaker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.Company OverviewBaker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm, providing clients with a genuine coast-to-coast and global advantage in major regions of the U.S. It was founded in 1931, and is headquartered in Chicago, IL, US, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
