Axelon Services Corporation is seeking an experienced GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native data platforms on Google Cloud Platform. The role involves working with GCP services and requires expertise in Python, SQL, and CI/CD practices to support data and platform engineering initiatives.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native data platforms, APIs, and ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud PlatformSupport data, AI/GenAI, and platform engineering initiatives in a production environmentSkills6+ years of industry experience in cloud engineering, data engineering, or platform engineeringHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services: BigQuery, Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, and Cloud StorageExperience building and deploying backend APIs and cloud-native servicesProficiency in Python for data processing, orchestration, or backend servicesStrong SQL skills, particularly with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehousesExperience building and operating data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows in a production environmentSolid expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)Experience with Vertex AI, including pipelines, model deployment, batch/online inference, or GenAI integrationExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), including automated testing and environment promotionUnderstanding of infrastructure-as-code, cloud reliability, and production incident responseExperience enabling adoption of GenAI capabilities with production-ready deployment and governance patternsSelf-directed problem solver with strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldPractical MLOps experience, including model serving, monitoring, and retraining workflowsExperience with Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Dataproc, or DataflowExperience with Cloud SQL/PostgreSQL and performance optimization for analytical serving patternsFamiliarity with healthcare, insurance, or other regulated data environmentsExperience improving platform reliability through observability, documentation, and operational playbooksExperience optimizing cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and resiliencyExperience building internal tools or product-facing analytics applicationsAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldCompany OverviewFor more than 40 years, Axelon has been exceeding market expectations and delivering top talent to the Fortune 500.
