[Remote] Fraud Strategy Consultant, Investor Platform

Groundfloor Finance is seeking an experienced Fraud Strategy Consultant to enhance their fraud prevention capabilities across their investment platform. The role involves assessing current fraud controls, optimizing technology and processes, and implementing scalable solutions to protect both investors and the business. The consultant will collaborate with various teams to strengthen fraud controls while maintaining customer experience and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesConduct a comprehensive assessment of Groundfloor's current fraud controls, workflows, technologies, governance, and customer experienceChallenge existing fraud processes and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomesDevelop a prioritized roadmap for fraud strategy enhancements and partner with stakeholders to execute against that roadmapEvaluate fraud risks across the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, account maintenance, funding activity, withdrawals, and account accessEvaluate and optimize Groundfloor's fraud technology stack, including SEON and related fraud prevention toolsDesign and implement enhanced fraud detection rules, workflows, risk scoring methodologies, and monitoring strategiesPartner with Product and Engineering teams to improve automation, decisioning, alerting, and fraud prevention controlsEnsure fraud technologies are fully leveraged and aligned with business objectivesReview and redesign fraud investigation, escalation, and resolution processesDevelop best practice procedures for handling account takeovers, identity fraud, suspicious transactions, and other fraud eventsPartner with Operations teams to improve customer communications, documentation requirements, escalation paths, and case management practicesIdentify opportunities to reduce customer friction while maintaining strong fraud controlsAnalyze fraud performance data and develop actionable recommendations to improve fraud prevention effectivenessEstablish KPIs, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and success metrics for fraud operations and fraud strategy performanceIdentify emerging fraud threats, attack vectors, operational vulnerabilities, and industry trendsSupport fraud loss reduction efforts through data driven analysis and strategy refinementPartner with Operations, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Marketing, and Investments teams to implement fraud improvementsCommunicate fraud risks, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organizationDocument fraud processes, controls, workflows, and operating proceduresDevelop training materials and transfer knowledge to internal teams to ensure long term sustainability following the conclusion of the engagementSupport audits, governance reviews, and control assessments related to fraud managementSkills5+ years of fraud strategy, fraud risk, fraud operations leadership, or fraud program management experience within fintech, banking, brokerage, lending, wealth management, payments, or other regulated financial services environmentsDemonstrated success building, redesigning, or optimizing fraud programs, controls, and operational processesDeep expertise in identity fraud, synthetic identity fraud, account takeover, transaction fraud, money movement fraud, and fraud risk managementStrong understanding of fraud detection systems, decision engines, rule management platforms, analytics tools, and fraud prevention technologies such as SEONExperience using data analytics to identify fraud trends, improve controls, reduce losses, and drive measurable business outcomesKnowledge of financial crimes regulations, AML requirements, and fraud governance best practicesExceptional communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and change management skills with the ability to influence technical and non technical teamsAbility to independently manage multiple initiatives and drive execution from assessment through implementationExperience supporting investment platforms, brokerage firms, wealth management organizations, alternative investments, or similar financial services businessesExperience developing fraud playbooks, operational procedures, training materials, and sustainable processes that can be maintained by internal teamsCompany OverviewGroundfloor is an award-winning fintech company transforming how individuals invest in real estate.
