[Remote] Fractional CTO / Startup

Motion Recruitment is a fast-growing real estate technology startup seeking a Fractional CTO to provide senior-level technical leadership and strategic guidance during their growth phase. The role involves a balance of hands-on engineering and leadership, focusing on shaping the product and engineering organization as the company scales. Responsibilities • Own and evolve the company’s technical vision and roadmap • Guide architecture decisions across frontend, infrastructure, and tooling • Advise on AI agents, automation, and platform scalability • Support and mentor engineering leadership • Evaluate and oversee third-party vendors and production houses • Partner with founders on technical strategy, hiring, and risk management • Provide pragmatic guidance rather than heavy bureaucracy Skills • Own and evolve the company's technical vision and roadmap • Guide architecture decisions across frontend, infrastructure, and tooling • Advise on AI agents, automation, and platform scalability • Support and mentor engineering leadership • Evaluate and oversee third-party vendors and production houses • Partner with founders on technical strategy, hiring, and risk management • Provide pragmatic guidance rather than heavy bureaucracy • Previous CTO, VP Engineering, or senior technical leadership experience • Strong familiarity with modern TypeScript/React ecosystems • Experience scaling multi-product platforms and distributed teams • Comfortable working asynchronously with periodic live collaboration • Startup-savvy and outcome-oriented Company Overview • Motion Recruitment, a Kelly® Company, delivers IT Talent Solutions for Contract, Direct Hire, Managed Solutions and Statement of Work to all of North America from our 21 delivery centers.
