[Remote] FP&A & Strategic Finance – Analyst

They are seeking an FP&A & Strategic Finance Analyst to build financial infrastructure across portfolio companies, develop operating models, and conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.ResponsibilitiesBuild detailed operating models (revenue, retention, pricing, headcount, cash flow) that become the single source of truth for portfolio companiesDesign standardized financial reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and budget-versus-actuals frameworks for month-on-month performance analysisOwn quarterly forecasting cadence: collect inputs, reconcile actuals, stress-test assumptions, and present findings to executives and investorsPartner with accounting teams to diagnose and fix data quality issues at the root (chart of accounts, revenue recognition, timing gaps)Identify and repair logical gaps, circular references, and broken assumptions in inherited models and data pipelinesConduct ad-hoc financial analysis on unit economics, pricing, hiring ROI, and cash runway with clear recommendationsSkills1 to 3 years in FP&A, Strategic Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or highly analytical corporate finance rolesAdvanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency: build models from scratch, link worksheets, create dynamic assumptions, stress-test scenariosSolid accounting and finance fundamentals: understand accrual vs. cash, P&L and balance sheet structure, working capital, revenue recognitionAbility to overlap meaningfully with U.S. time zones (EST/CST) for weekly meetings and ad-hoc collaborationExperience with SQL, Python, Looker, or Tableau for automating data pulls and building dashboardsPrior exposure to SaaS metrics (MRR, ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, net retention) or B2B unit economicsFamiliarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct) or accounting software (QuickBooks)BenefitsFull remote work across India and South Asia, Latin America.Exposure to early-stage to growth-stage software businesses with direct impact on scaling financial discipline.Opportunity to build repeatable processes and infrastructure used across the portfolio.Company OverviewEmergence is a dedicated permanent equity partner backed by The Pritzker Organization It was founded in 2023, and is headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
