[Remote] Founding Customer Success Engineer

They are seeking a founding Customer Success Engineer who will focus on customer adoption and technical troubleshooting, allowing the engineering team to concentrate on shipping new features.ResponsibilitiesLead technical onboarding for new enterprise customers, partnering with security architects, DevOps leads, and platform engineering teamsDebug complex issues across features related to CI/CD pipelines, source code repositories, runtime monitoring, and developer machine agentsReproduce customer issues in test environments, identify root causes, and partner directly with engineering on fixesBuild internal tooling, runbooks, and documentation that scale customer support beyond yourselfDrive adoption metrics across our customer base and proactively identify accounts that need attentionBe the technical voice of the customer inside StepSecurity, surfacing patterns that should shape product prioritiesContribute to public documentation, blog posts, and community content based on what you learn in the fieldSkillsGenuine customer empathy and a strong bias for ownership. You do not hand off problems, you solve them2 - 4 years in a Customer Success Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Support Engineering role at a developer tools company or other highly technical B2B productStrong hands-on technical skills. You are comfortable reading code, writing scripts, and reproducing issues without waiting for engineeringScripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or similarExcellent written communication. Most customer interactions happen over Slack, and you will need to explain complex technical issues clearly to engineering audiencesBackground in application security, software supply chain security, SAST/SCA, or related fieldsPrior experience at an early-stage startup (Seed or Series A)Open source contributions or community involvement in the security or DevOps spaceCompany OverviewStepSecurity provides a comprehensive security platform for GitHub Actions.
