The successful candidate will ensure new materials are developed, tested, and commercialized on time while collaborating with various teams and serving as the primary contact for vendors regarding material initiatives.ResponsibilitiesEnsure new materials are developed, tested and commercialized on timePartner with Material Planning, Sourcing, & Costing to provide transparency when issues or concerns arise and collaborate on a resolutionServe as the primary contact for vendors as it relates to material initiative specific issues (price, technical specs, performance)Collaborate with product creation teams, material, and functional teams to provide training and education as well as standard methodologies to enable informed decision making for strategic material initiativesSkillsBachelor's degree in Materials, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred or combination of relevant education, experience, and trainingMinimum 5 years' professional experience in materials development, manufacturing or engineering or similarDeep understanding of various material manufacturing processes requiredDemonstrated expertise in material types, including: fibers, yarn, textile, leather, synthetic leather, components or trimsAbility to translate lab testing results for end-use applicationAbility to analyze, interpret, and present dataStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to anticipate needs, mitigate risks, and solve problemsAttention to detail, active follow-through, assertiveness, self-motivation and the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to balance multiple competing projects and independently manage workloadSolid digital literacy with working knowledge of MS office softwareMaterial management systems experience preferredCompany OverviewNet2Source (N2S) is a Minority owned global workforce solutions company recognized by SIA as the largest and fastest-growing Total Talent Solutions provider with a presence in 34 countries and in-house Glo-Cal (global and local) teams to support our clients.
