The Financial Manager will provide support and manage resources across different regions, focusing on financial reporting, income management, and overseeing financial staff.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping financial strategies: Analyze revenue, expenses, investments, and risks to create a financial strategyPerform analytical reviews of financial information to identify trends/opportunitiesRecommend improvements to drive cost efficiencies in balance with operational needs and capabilitiesWork with Operations team to develop Budgets and Forecast for Financial performanceCreate forecasts: Use historical data to create forecastsReporting of actual results and analysis vs. planAssist operations regarding cost budgets, quarterly forecasts, and other financial planning activitiesPrepare reports: Create reports to explain financial recommendations to senior managementPlay a significant role in the accurate and timely preparation of internal financial reporting and analysis. Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends, and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expensesPublish periodic financial reports, including but not limited to accounts payable, freight and consumable metrics, to provide department owners and leadership visibility to financial resultsSet goals: Help set financial goals and create a roadmap to achieve themParticipate in special projects as required, including process improvement and financial tools development and implementationManagement of financial process improvements, Key Performance Indicators and tracking of strategic initiativesSupport of various internal and external financial and system auditsManage resources: Manage and develop assigned resources effectivelyPlan, organize and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company's monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate mannerEnsure swift payment of invoicesCollect and confirm accuracy of all charges and expenses for a file to be billedManage Accounts Payable process: coordinate purchasing and tracking of vendor invoices through the system and associated revenue accrualsFinancial: Month-end close responsibilities: journal entries, corporate submissions, expense management, budgetary support for cost centers and ad hoc analysisPrepare month-end journal entries – focused on cost accrualsComplete the monthly Client Profitability ModelAttend meetings as required, documentation & distribution of meeting minutes, etcManage sensitive and confidential information in a professional, mature, discreet, and secure mannerCreate and disseminate various communications & reportsCreates or Assists with the design and development of presentationsEffectively communicate with employees, customers, suppliers & others on behalf of site managementIdentify opportunities: Identify when and how operations can optimize their assets and investmentsProduce cost quotes, strategic business cases, risk assessment and other ad-hoc analysis in support of the businessScheduling and meeting with vendors to ensure competitive pricing is maintainedResponsible for performance management of Accounting Assistant and Financial Analysts and other assigned financial staff membersEnsures training and development of team membersSkillsA Bachelor's degree is required, preferably within the area of Accounting or FinanceA minimum of 5 years of accounting, FP&A or finance experience is requiredMinimum of 3 years in supervising direct reportsCandidate must possess intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (i.e., Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions)Strong Math skills (emphasis on financial and accounting applications) with focused attention to detailThe candidate must possess the ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organizationEffective communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills are requiredThis position requires an initiative-taking individual with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and proven leadership skillsThe ability to work well in a dynamic environment, think creatively and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is requiredTrain staff at all levels in different regionsResponsible for performance management of Accounting Assistant and Financial Analysts and other assigned financial staff membersEnsures training and development of team membersCompany OverviewAt DSV, we keep supply chains flowing in a world of change.
