[Remote] Financial Intake Specialist

The Financial Intake Specialist ensures patients understand their insurance benefits and eligibility while accurately documenting financial details and managing inquiries efficiently. Responsibilities Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits of prospects/referrals Communicates patient benefits in a timely manner Documents and forwards patient deductible, out-of-pocket expense, life time maximum, home health or hospice days, and patient responsibility to agency in an accurate and timely manner Reviews and replies to branch location's urgent requests in a timely and accurate manner Initiates one time letters of agreement (LOAs) and negotiates rates as dictated by established policies and procedures Obtains and documents all authorization as needed from payer for services ordered/requested in a timely manner Serves as a liaison between the branch location and the payer Resolves all customer requests, inquiries, and concerns in an expedient and respectful manner Skills 1+ years of experience with insurance verification and authorization Revenue cycle experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational and analytical skills Basic PC skills including PC based applications (MS Word, Excel) Mathematical aptitude Detail Oriented Benefits A comprehensive benefits package Incentive and recognition programs Equity stock purchase 401k contribution Company Overview Optum is a healthcare company that provides pharmacy services, health care operations, and population health management.
