[Remote] Financial Data Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bamboo Insurance is seeking a Financial Data Analyst to support their Financial Planning & Analysis and Internal Audit functions. This role involves transforming data into actionable insights to drive financial decision-making and improve operational visibility within the organization.ResponsibilitiesBuilds and maintains financial reporting and non-financial (Business KPI) reporting, and data sets for FP&A and Internal Audit teamsQueries and transforms data from the data warehouse and operational systems using SQL and BI tools to support financial analysis and audit requestsPartners with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with reliable, well-structured data models and reportsSupports Internal Audit by providing data extracts, performing control-testing analytics, and preparing exception reporting to identify anomaliesPerforms other related ad-hoc duties as assignedSkillsDetail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of financial statements, familiarity with FP&A processes (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) and/or internal audit concepts (control testing, risk assessment)Advanced-Intermediate Microsoft Excel skillsExperience in report building tools (e.g., Tableau, Pyramid, PowerBI)Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to establish rapport, credibility, trust, and positive relationships with all departmentsProficient in effectively planning and prioritizing work activitiesIntermediate SQL skills with ability to write queries, joins, and aggregations to extract and manipulate data from relational databasesAbility to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time and prioritize appropriatelyBachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience2+ years' experience in an analyst (or related) role1+ years' experience in property and casualty insuranceHands-on experience with Tableau, Pyramid, PowerBI or similar BI tools for dashboard creation and self-service reportingAdvanced SQL skills and/or knowledge with Python or R for data analysis and automationExperience in Guidewire or other modern policy administration systemsExperience working with different technology platforms, especially general ledger system, Process One, TipaltiExposure to internal audit methodologies, SOX compliance, or data governance frameworksUnderstanding of insurance products, policies, and servicesCompany OverviewBamboo Insurance is a technology-enabled, underwriting-first managing general underwriter (MGU) focused on homeowners’ coverage for a new era of insurance.
