[Remote] Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will ensure the accuracy of financial data, compliance with reporting deadlines, and provide support to the legal team, ultimately contributing to the firm's mission of helping families navigate sensitive transitions.ResponsibilitiesMaintain up-to-date ledgers by categorizing all QuickBooks Online transactions on a weekly basisComplete full reconciliation of QuickBooks to all bank statements by the 10th calendar day of each monthExecute all bill-pay functions and run payroll accurately and on timeServe as the primary IRA benefits coordinator and Health Insurance liaison, managing annual renewals and resolving all employee-vendor issuesPartner with our external CFO team to implement sophisticated financial controls and improve internal data flow processesEnsure all federal and state reporting is filed correctly and provide comprehensive monthly financial reports to the Executive TeamAct as the "financial face" of the firm, answering team questions and resolving issues related to bill pay and financeSkillsMinimum of 2+ years of experience as a Controller for a small or mid-sized businessExtensive experience with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Google SheetsMust be an incorporated entity with active liability/errors and omissions insuranceAbility to work virtually and meet all recurring weekly and monthly deadlinesBookkeeping or QuickBooks certifications are a significant plusWhile the role is mostly virtual, the ability to occasionally visit our New Braunfels, Texas office is a plusBenefitsThis position is a fully remote, 1099 Contract position.Ability to occasionally visit our New Braunfels, Texas office is a plus.Company OverviewAn Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Business Planning, and Probate Law Firm located in New Braunfels, Texas Virtual Appointments Available It was founded in 2017, and is headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, US, with a workforce of 2-10 employees.
