The role involves leading strategic financial consulting for employee benefit plans, managing RFP processes, and providing analysis and recommendations to clients.ResponsibilitiesSupports and demonstrates IMA’s core valuesValues and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associatesInteracts professionally and timely with internal and external clients via email, phone and in-personLeads complex technical work and strategic financial consulting regarding employee benefit plansCommunicates technical analysis to clients regarding cost projections, savings opportunities, and proper risk managementDrives local process improvements and supports innovationPrepares and manages RFP for all self-funded TPA and stop loss submissions to market with Client Executive directionCollects, manages, and reviews proposals on self-funded TPA and stop loss marketing eventsUpdates marketing results into spreadsheet ensuring accuracy to be used internally and in client presentationInitiates review of fully insured medical, and self-funded TPA and stop loss renewals, including plans, cost, contributions and contract termsLeads recommendations to client regarding renewal analysisUtilizes actuarial models to assess changes to risk and plan structureNegotiates with carriers based on client’s targeted goalsMaintains ongoing relationships with carrier and vendor partnersProvides analysis for benchmarking, contribution, disruption, network, stop loss deductible and GeoAccess analysisProvides and communicates underwriting cost projections for self-funded medical/Rx, dental, and vision productsDevelops and communicates self-funded IBNP analysis to clientAssesses proper risk and funding structures such as fully insured vs. self-funded analysis, and presents findings to client to align with client goalsWith minimal guidance, analyzes data for inconsistencies and trendsProvides a written and oral summary of findings to Client Executive, and directs strategic considerations for managing costBuilds and customizes reports to fit client needsPrepares client presentations and presents in front of client with as part of team with Client Executive, Client Manager, and various subject matter expertsProvides mentorship to analysts and performs technical review of workServes as a subject matter expert for specific financial strategy functions, and leads local process improvementsServes as experienced peer reviewer, ensuring standards of practice and work quality standards are metSkills6+ years of similar or related experiencePrefer college graduate, 4-year degree or equivalent experienceProficiency with MS Office SuitesAttains Life and Health license & maintains through continuing education requirementsLimited travel required (less than 25%)Understands concepts of underwriting and actuarial computationsAnalyzes and interprets dataEffectively manages multiple projects while meeting timelinesAbility to be firm and persuasive when needed, while maintaining good relationshipsHandles confidential information with tact and discretionBenefitsAnnual Performance BonusStock PurchaseMedical PlansPrescription DrugsDentalVisionFamily Assistance ProgramFSAHSAPre-Tax Parking Plan401(k)Life/AD&DAccidentCritical IllnessHospital IndemnityLong Term CareShort-term DisabilityLong-term DisabilityBusiness Travel AccidentIdentity TheftPaid Time OffFlexible Work OptionsPaid HolidaysSabbaticalGift MatchingWell-Being StipendPersonal and Professional DevelopmentCompany OverviewWith over four decades of experience in the industry, IMA has become a trusted leader in commercial insurance, risk management, surety, and employee benefits brokerage and consulting.
