[Remote] Financial Analytics Analyst - Corporate Accounting & Finance (Kansas City)

The Financial Analytics Analyst will be responsible for preparing financial reports, supporting data model development, and collaborating with various teams to enhance financial insights and decision-making processes.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and deliver reports, analyses, and presentations of financial data to support decision-making across multiple levels of leadershipSupport the development, maintenance, and enhancement of financial data models and reporting solutionsPerform data validation, tie-out, and quality assurance activities in support of user acceptance testing and ongoing enhancements to financial data models and reportsTranslate data requirements to practical usage for team membersPromote the use of modern analytics tools and reporting solutions by assisting others with data preparation, analysis, and visualization effortsCollaborate with team members and stakeholders (e.g., IT, project teams, Finance) to support project and reporting needsMaintain awareness of and ensure adherence to financial data structures, reporting tools, and data governance practices within the finance domainProactively develop technical and analytical skills and share knowledge with team members and other finance resources where applicableSupport the creation of training materials and participate in knowledge-sharing efforts related to financial reporting tools and processesAll other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or financeMinimum of four (4) years related accounting experience; extra credit may be given for public accounting experienceOne year of additional credit given for CPA or MBAStrong working knowledge of analytics tools, including Power BI, Excel, or similar platformsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity with data analysis techniques, including identifying trends, patterns, and segmentation of dataRobust analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to leverage data to produce quantifiable business valueDAX and SQL experience is a plusCompany OverviewBurns & McDonnell is an engineering design firm and it provides engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting services.
