Remote Financial Analyst – Venture Capital & Portfolio Ops
Job Summary
The Elite Job is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Remote Financial Analyst – Venture Capital & Portfolio Operations to support investment teams and portfolio companies with data-driven financial insights. In this role, you will work closely with venture capital partners, founders, and operations teams to evaluate investment opportunities, track portfolio performance, and support strategic financial planning.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling capabilities with a deep understanding of startup ecosystems, venture capital dynamics, and portfolio management. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate venture capital investment opportunities.
Analyze financial statements, KPIs, and performance metrics of portfolio companies.
Prepare investment memos, financial forecasts, and valuation analysis for potential deals.
Track and monitor portfolio company performance and provide quarterly financial reports.
Support venture partners with due diligence, market research, and industry analysis.
Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and capital allocation strategies.
Create dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders and investors.
Monitor venture market trends, competitor activity, and emerging sectors.
Support fundraising initiatives by preparing financial data and investor materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, comparable company analysis, scenario modeling).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Experience working with financial dashboards, analytics platforms, or BI tools.
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Experience
3–7 years of experience in financial analysis, venture capital, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance.
Experience working with startups, venture-backed companies, or growth-stage businesses is highly preferred.
Prior experience in portfolio analysis, investor reporting, or deal evaluation is a plus.
Familiarity with SaaS metrics, startup financials, and venture capital investment processes is advantageous.
Working Hours
Fully remote position with flexible working hours.
