The Investment Financial Analyst II is responsible for conducting financial research, preparing investment exhibits, and performing statistical analysis to aid in decision-making.ResponsibilitiesConduct economic and financial research to assess Investment trends and conditionsPrepare the Investment exhibits for the 10K, Financial notes, Investment Committee, Investment front office and othersPrepare the Investment portions of the STAT MD&A and STAT audited filesAnalyze, interpret and make recommendations of securities for impairmentEstablish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to support senior managementEnsure compliance with financial reporting standards and company policiesManage the expectation of both internal and external parties as it relates to deliverables and deadlinesIdentify opportunities to enhance financial systems and reporting methodsStreamline processes by leveraging automationCollaborate with senior management and functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting accuracyEnsure data management integrity and control considerations are maintained in financial reporting toolsUse thoughtful judgement with appropriate pushback for reporting redundancies and consolidationSkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, data manipulation, process improvements through technologyAbility to manipulate and rationalize large datasetsKnowledge of financial modelingAdvanced Microsoft Excel knowledgeAbility to interpret and apply financial and analytical techniques effectivelyStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAttention to detailHighly organizedTeam playerCan do attitudeCompany OverviewHorace Mann provides auto insurance, life insurance, and financial services.
