The role involves scaling deal processes, supporting self-mining initiatives, and evaluating new venture opportunities while collaborating with various teams to drive strategic decision-making.ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic finance partner to Proto leadership, providing rigorous financial analysis to support decision-making across hardware, self-mining, and infrastructure initiativesBuild, own, and maintain end-to-end financial models for Proto programs and ventures, including forecasting, unit economics, and capital allocation across multiple initiativesDevelop scenario, sensitivity, and investment analyses to evaluate new deals, self-mining expansions, energy partnerships, and operational changes, clearly articulating short- and long-term tradeoffs and financial impactSupport deal structuring and execution with external counterparties, including pricing frameworks, contract economics, counterparty assessment, and evaluation of new venture opportunities across the Bitcoin ecosystemLead ad-hoc analyses and special projects related to Proto’s P&L, capital deployment, performance metrics, and strategic priorities, in close collaboration with F&S and cross-functional partnersSkills8+ years of relevant finance experience, with a strong preference for candidates with an investment banking background and subsequent experience in strategic finance, corporate development, or principal investing rolesExperience in fintech, infrastructure, energy, or digital assets is a plusDemonstrated ability to lead complex analyses and drive outcomes on cross-functional, high-impact initiatives, particularly in fast-moving or ambiguous environmentsStrong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex, unstructured problems into clear frameworks, develop actionable analyses, and communicate recommendations effectively to senior stakeholdersComfort working with financial and operational metrics, building new KPIs, and navigating large or imperfect data sets to inform decision-makingIntellectual curiosity and interest in Bitcoin and digital asset infrastructure; prior hands-on experience in the space is beneficial but not requiredAbility to balance rigor with speed, exercising sound judgment while moving decisively in a dynamic, execution-oriented environmentBenefitsRemote workMedical insuranceFlexible time offRetirement savings plansModern family planningCompany OverviewBlock is a technology company with a focus on financial services.
