[Remote] Finance Specialist - Accounting & FP&A

RemoteHunter is a fast-growing fintech organization seeking a Finance Specialist with expertise in Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This hybrid role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes while collaborating across teams for timely financial reporting.ResponsibilitiesAssist with general ledger maintenance to ensure accurate and timely transaction recordingSupport month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedulesAssist in the preparation of US GAAP-compliant financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedulesPerform recurring accounting activities such as account reconciliations and transaction reviewsSupport accounts payable processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to policiesPrepare and maintain documentation for external audits, including schedules and reconciliationsContribute to the development and improvement of accounting policies, internal controls, and automation initiativesHelp update and maintain the financial model to support forecasting and budgetingSupport preparation of monthly financial reporting packages and dashboards for leadershipAct as a cross-functional business partner to build models supporting ad-hoc strategic initiativesAssist with routine variance analysis to identify and explain performance against plan and prior periodsSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with strong accounting coursework1-3 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred) and/or corporate finance and accounting rolesAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and nested formulasComfortable working across both accounting and FP&A functionsGood understanding of US GAAP and internal control principlesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailEffective communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbalExperience with accounting software, preferably NetSuiteEnthusiasm for process improvement, automation, and emerging technologies including AIBenefitsFlexible paid time off.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with employer match.Short and long term disability coverage fully paid by the organization.Life insurance options and paid parental leave.Certification reimbursement program.Remote work from anywhere in the United States.Company OverviewRemoteHunter is your dedicated AI job search assistant, turning the job hunt from a slow, individual effort into a quicker, smarter, and guided experience by streamlining each step of the process and speeding up your path to the right career opportunities.
