[Remote] Finance Operations Manager

Tru Consulting is a growing organization seeking a Finance Operations Manager who will serve as a critical bridge between their outsourced accounting partner and internal business leaders. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of finance operations while supporting reporting and forecasting to drive informed decision-making.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary day-to-day liaison with our outsourced accounting partner across AP/AR, general ledger management, and month-end close activitiesReview P&L reporting and financial statements; investigate discrepancies, and coordinate resolution effortsCoordinate and manage the month-end close process and calendar, ensuring timely completion of deliverablesManage vendor maintenance activities, including: W9 collection, certificates of insurance, banking information updates, and ACH setup or changesResolve operational finance issues and support continuous improvement of accounting processesOwn accounts receivable management, including aging review, customer follow-ups, and resolution of outstanding balancesPartner with Delivery Operations to ensure accurate and timely client invoicingMonitor billing workflows and identify opportunities to improve collection cycles and cash flowCoordinate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packagesSupport annual audit and tax preparation activitiesAssist in maintaining strong financial controls, documentation, and process consistency across the organizationMaintain financial models supporting actuals, budget tracking and near-term forecastingSupport KPI reporting and dashboard development for executive leadershipCoordinate sales pipeline hygiene with the Market & Growth Strategy team in HubSpot and incorporate pipeline data into forecasting activitiesAssist in preparing board presentations and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packagesBuild and maintain SOPs across accounting and finance operationsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and create scalable processesHelp establish operational discipline and consistency across recurring financial workflowsReduce on institutional knowledge through documentation and process standardizationSkills5–7 years in accounting, finance, or a blended roleStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAdvanced Excel capabilities with experience building and maintaining financial models and dashboardsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into concise narratives for non-finance stakeholdersNaturally curious and motivated to improve processes and systemsCollaborative mindset with a willingness to support cross-functional teamsTakes ownership and follows through on commitmentsComfortable operating independently while knowing when to escalate issuesExperience within a professional services, consulting, SaaS, or technology-enabled services environmentExperience working in a PE-backed organizationExperience coordinating with or managing an outsourced accounting functionExposure to project-based billing, revenue operations and AR managementExperience supporting audit, tax preparation and financial reporting processesBenefitsAnnual bonus opportunityRemote-first work environment (U.S.-based candidates only)Comprehensive benefits packageOpportunity to grow alongside a rapidly scaling private equity-backed organizationCompany OverviewOverview At Tru Consulting, we are a professional services firm focused on delivering innovative, client-centered solutions for the Higher Education and Public Sector industries.
