[Remote] Field Service Engineer, Cryogenic Solutions / East Coast

In this role, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot cryogenic systems at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction in a regulated environment.ResponsibilitiesInstall, modify, repair, diagnose, and perform preventive maintenance on cryogenic storage, transport, and thawing equipment, including associated software and hardware, in accordance with Azenta policies and proceduresSupport customers using automated cryo storage systems, LNâ vapor freezers, cryogenic carriers, and dryâbath thawing solutions, ensuring optimal system performanceInterface directly with customers to meet contract SLAs and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in regulated laboratory and clinical environmentsMaintain a safe and compliant working environment, particularly when working with cryogenic temperatures, liquid nitrogen systems, and safety protocolsObtain and maintain required Equipment Service and Operation Certifications, including Cryoâspecific systemsAccurately document service activities through Service Reports, Status Reports, and performance summariesRespond productively to changing priorities, including system alerts, escalations, and toolâdown eventsAct as a point of contact (PoC) for customers and internal Azenta managementProvide weekly system performance summaries, including system events, Pareto analysis, and root cause / corrective action reportingSupport additional KPI measurement requests throughout the contract periodAssist with sample migration activities, including the transition of samples into new Cryo storage formats and systemsSkillsAssociate of Science (AS) degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on technical trainingMinimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience, or equivalent military technical trainingStrong electrical and mechanical fundamentalsAbility to communicate clearly and professionally in English (reading, writing, and speaking), including effective interaction with customers and internal teamsValid driver's license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to obtain a valid passport during employmentAbility to successfully pass background screening requirementsMust be located on the US East Coast with convenient access to a major airport for frequent travelProven troubleshooting skills, using a structured and methodical approach to diagnose system issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsAbility to work independently in the field while prioritizing issues based on urgency, customer impact, and business needsStrong sense of ownership and commitment to resolving problems through to completionComfort working with computers and standard business software, including Windows-based operating systemsExperience documenting work through service reports, system updates, and performance summariesFamiliarity with Oracle or similar systems is a plus, but not requiredCompany OverviewGENEWIZ from Azenta Life Sciences is a leading global genomics service provider serving researchers worldwide through a suite of solutions including synthesis, Sanger sequencing, whole plasmid sequencing, and next generation sequencing spanning genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
