[Remote] Field Applications Engineer - Microelectronics

The role involves supporting customer engagements, developing product documentation, and providing technical support during pre-sales and post-sales phases.ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed technical specifications, characterization data, and application guidelinesDevelop and maintain comprehensive product datasheets for ASIC and standard product offeringsDocument electrical characteristics, timing diagrams, functional descriptions, and package informationEnsure all technical documentation meets industry standards and customer requirementsProduce application notes, design guides, and reference designs that enable customer successConduct design reviews and offer guidance on IC integration and system-level implementationDeliver technical presentations and training to customers and field application engineersProvide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and internal teamsTroubleshoot customer design issues and recommend solutionsAnalyze silicon measurement data and validate performance against specificationsDefine and execute IC characterization test plans across process, voltage, and temperature cornersSupport failure analysis and root cause investigation activitiesWork with design and test engineering teams to optimize product performanceCollaborate with product marketing to define product positioning and competitive advantagesContribute to new product definition based on customer feedback and market requirementsInterface with IC design teams to understand product features, limitations, and optimal use casesSupport sales teams with technical expertise during customer engagementsSkills5+ years of experience in IC applications engineering, design engineering, or related technical roleBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (MS preferred)Proven track record of developing technical datasheets and application documentationAbility to translate complex technical concepts into customer-facing contentExceptional technical writing skills with ability to create clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentationExperience with documentation tools and version control systemsExperience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, etc.)Experience with semiconductor device physics, CMOS technology, and circuit operationFamiliarity with industry-standard communication interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, SerDes, etc.)Knowledge of IC packaging, thermal management, and power delivery considerationsProficiency in interpreting and analyzing electrical test data and characterization resultsStrong presentation skills for both technical and business audiencesStrong understanding of digital and/or analog IC design principlesBackground in system-level design or board-level integrationExperience supporting government or military programsExperience with high-reliability or radiation-hardened IC technologiesFamiliarity with ITAR regulations and defense/aerospace industry requirementsKnowledge of EDA tools and design flows (Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor)Understanding of ASIC development processes and foundry technologies (GlobalFoundries, Intel, TSMC)BenefitsHealth and Dental Insurance401K Plan with Profit SharingPaid Time Off (PTO)Stock Option PlanCompany OverviewChelsea Search Group offers recruiting and staffing services for legal, technical, and engineering roles.
