[Remote] Expert Technical Analyst - MMIS - Medicaid Pharmacy

The Expert Technical Analyst - MMIS - Medicaid Pharmacy will leverage technical analysis and SQL development to support Medicaid Management Information Systems and ensure data integrity across various functional domains.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support analysis, configuration validation, reporting, and defect resolutionPerform inâdepth data analysis and rootâcause investigations to troubleshoot system and production issuesUse SQL to extract, analyze, reconcile, and validate data across environments to support solutioning, testing, and quality assuranceSupport performance tuning activities by analyzing queries, batch jobs, execution plans, and system throughputPerform smoke testing and postârelease validation to confirm data integrity and system stabilityCoordinate with data conversion teams to support migration planning, data loads, reconciliation, and validationValidate converted and migrated data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business and policy intentSupport and validate configuration syncs (e.g., Redgate) from baseline to upper environments (sourceâtoâtarget)Analyze, validate, and reconcile interface outputs, extract files, reports, and database feedsValidate X12 EDI transactions (e.g., 834, 837, 835, 820, 999/277) for structure, content, and processing outcomesCoordinate and manage reference data files and national standard code sets, investigating data variances as neededSupport Business Analysts by translating functional requirements into technical specifications and solution modelsInterpret and leverage Data Element Dictionaries (DEDs) to understand data structures, relationships, and crossâmodule dependenciesAnalyze and document data flows, integration logic, and technical dependencies across internal systems and external interfacesPerform feasibility analysis on requested features, identifying technical constraints, data impacts, and integration considerationsParticipate in design and requirements workshops, providing technical insight to ensure business and technical alignmentPresent and explain technical impacts or solution gaps to governance forums such as Architecture Review Boards (ARB) or Change Control Boards (CCB) as neededSupport System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel testing, and performance testing by validating data and system behaviorAssist with test data setup, environment readiness, validation scripts, and reconciliation activitiesAnalyze defects related to data, interfaces, configuration syncs, and performance; implement and validate fixesSupport deployment, cutover activities, hypercare, and postâproduction issue resolutionServe as a technical liaison between Business Analysts, Configuration Analysts, developers, QA, conversion teams, and operationsClearly document and communicate technical findings, risks, root causes, and resolution approaches to stakeholdersCollaborate with configuration teams on data mappings and configuration validationMentor junior technical analysts on SQL, data standards, troubleshooting techniques, and documentation best practicesMay lead subâtracks within technical workstreams to ensure timely and highâquality deliverySkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)12+ years of experience as a Technical Analyst, Data Analyst, or Healthcare Systems AnalystAdvanced SQL skills, including complex joins, transformations, large dataset analysis, and stored proceduresExperience supporting MMIS, Medicaid, or Medicaid Pharmacy systemsStrong understanding of healthcare data and Medicaid domains (Member, Provider, Claims, Pharmacy, Finance, Care Management)Experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, and validating technical outputsStrong analytical, documentation, and communication skillsExperience working in SDLC and Agile delivery environmentsHandsâon experience with QNXT or similar healthcare claims/encounter management platformsFamiliarity with Data Element Dictionaries (DEDs), interface specifications, and integration designExperience validating X12 EDI transactions and healthcare interfacesExperience supporting data conversion, reconciliation, and parallel testingExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)BenefitsGenerous, flexible vacation policyA 401(k) employer matchComprehensive health benefitsEducational assistanceA variety of leadership and technical development academies to help build your skills and capabilitiesFully remote options from continental US locations onlyCompany OverviewGainwell Technologies is a provider of Information Technology & Services.
