[Remote] Exchange Assistant (Remote EST)

The Exchange Assistant will support Exchange Officers in executing 1031 tax-deferred exchanges by handling inquiries, preparing documentation, and managing the exchange process in a remote-first environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop proficiency in 1031 rules and ability to answer customer questionsHandle inquiry callsReview purchase agreements and title reportsPrepare exchange documentation for relinquished and replacement property closingsFollow company’s procedures and comply with Accounting PolicyMonitor time deadlines and closing datesHandle all accounting for the exchange filesManage exchange process in a timely mannerReview estimated closing statements for approvalHandle acceptance and disbursement of funds in accordance with 1031 rulesCollect fee income and final signed documentationPerform any other duties requested by the exchange officer in order to manage the exchange processTrouble shooting and customer managementFollow up with existing and potential clients for increased businessCooperate with exchange officer, manager and sales reps to develop businessSkillsHigh School diploma or equivalent1-3 years of administrative experienceWorking knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of department/fieldGood verbal and written communication skillsEstablishes effective working relationships at the work group levelExperience as an escrow officer or assistantFluency in SpanishBenefitsMedicalDentalVision401kPTO/paid sick leaveEmployee stock purchase planCompany OverviewFirst American provides financial services through its Title Insurance and Services segment and its Specialty Insurance segment.
