Electrical Reliability Services (ERS) is looking for talented Mechanical Building Commissioning Engineers to join their Commissioning Group nationally. The role involves performing and managing commissioning procedures for mechanical systems in mission critical facilities, along with leading projects and ensuring client satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesPerform all aspects of commissioning of mechanical systems including chilled water systems, air distribution systems, AC Systems, and building controls systemPerform commissioning design reviewsPerform commissioning submittal reviewsDevelop commissioning forms, specifications, and plansPerform commissioning design reviewsPerform commissioning submittal reviewsUnderstand contract documents (i.e. drawings and specifications)Understand Sequence of OperationDevelop pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems commissioning scriptsExecute commissioning scriptsTrack and report commissioning issues throughout the projectDevelop and assemble final commissioning reportsOperate safely in a construction atmosphere performing commissioning operationsPlay an important role in each commissioning projectPerform as lead on small or moderately sized commissioning projectsBe responsible for commissioning communications and updatesInsure project schedules are being metMaintain strong client relationshipsProvide some project managementSkillsGraduate Bachelor Engineer (BSEE or BSME)Graduate of applicable Commissioning Technical Training and two years minimum same or similar work experienceAt least (5) commissioning projects including Design, Construction, and Acceptance phase processesHigh school education or equivalent and five years minimum same or similar work experienceAt least (8) commissioning projects including Design, Construction, and Acceptance phase processesValid Driver's License with clean driving recordKnowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPAStrong background and experience in all types of switchgear testing through the 15 kV classGood theoretical understanding of electrical power systemsStrong computer skills including editing, formatting, and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research, and operation of computer-controlled test equipmentWilling to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night workMust be available for out-of-town and international travel of up to several weeksKnowledge of ASHRAE commissioning industry standards and a Commissioning certification is preferredKnowledge of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) process for New Construction and Existing Buildings and LEED Accredited Professional is preferredKnowledge and thorough understanding of building mechanical systems, chilled water systems, air distribution systems, AC Systems, building controls system, Glycol based systems, and boilersBackground and experience in operation and maintenance of mechanical equipmentPlan, schedule, and perform work for mid to large size projects and programComplete projects consistently on time and under budgetCultivate effective relationships with existing and potential key clients, customers and contractorsRequires a high degree of communication, supervisory, and organization skillsCommunicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients and peersCommunicate technical or project related subjects accurately via emailPerforms well as part of a team of various groups and disciplinesGood judgment, dependable, performs on projects with technical expertiseStrong computer skills including editing, formatting in Microsoft Word and Excel, use of Internet for standards/products/ manufacturer research, and operation of computer-controlled test equipmentRegularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smellFrequently required to sit, climb, and balance.
