The role involves leading financial process improvements, optimizing cost accounting structures, and ensuring compliance during month-end and year-end closing.ResponsibilitiesLead and support financial process improvement initiatives across cost accounting, financial reporting, and period‑end closeAnalyze, design, and optimize cost accounting structures, including standard costing, overhead allocation, and cost roll‑upsEvaluate, redesign, and implement chart of accounts (COA) structures to support accurate reporting and scalabilitySupport and enhance month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standardsPerform variance analysis, margin analysis, and cost‑to‑produce evaluationsTranslate business requirements into functional financial solutions and provide best‑practice recommendationsCollaborate with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to ensure alignment between financial processes and system capabilitiesSupport testing, training, and documentation for new financial processes or system enhancementsTroubleshoot financial system issues and provide ongoing functional supportSkillsStrong hands‑on experience in cost accounting, financial operations, and period‑end closeProven experience designing or restructuring chart of accountsDeep understanding of standard costing, actual costing, and advanced cost allocation methodsDemonstrated experience supporting or leading month‑end and year‑end close cyclesStrong business process analysis and documentation skillsAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholdersWillingness to travel up to 25%Experience working in manufacturing or distribution environmentsPrior consulting or client‑facing experienceUnderstanding of financial reporting tools and system integrationsCompany OverviewWashington Frank International provides permanent and freelance ERP recruitment solutions.
