The Epic Analyst role involves analyzing workflows, recommending solutions, and implementing application solutions to meet departmental needs, specifically focusing on Epic applications. Responsibilities include training development, troubleshooting, and ensuring the system meets organizational needs.ResponsibilitiesPerforms in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic softwareInvestigates end users’ preferences while making build decisions and analyses business operations as they relate to build decisionBuilds and maintains Epic application content as assigned by department lead/managerStays current with new application functionality and enhancementsFollows functional specification documents to create content within the Epic applicationCompletes thorough unit testing of all build prior to handoff for functional and/or integrated testingDocuments and reports system issues through internal chain of command; communication with vendor where appropriatePopulates databases during the initial system build with assistance from EpicCollects information regarding potential system enhancements and functionality needsPrepares details of specifications as neededAnalyzes data conversion needs and ensure that data coming across an interface into an Epic application meets the business needDevelops and documents project team procedures for implementing system changes and other tasksEstablishes change control processes and procedures for the systemParticipates in training development and delivery to end usersWorks with end users to troubleshoot problems and investigate questions from end usersWorks with report writers to ensure that the application has the necessary reportsPrioritizes and implement requested changes to the system and analyze new functionality in releases to determine how it should be usedMaintains regular communication with Epic representatives and work with the Epic representatives and GHS' end user community to ensure the system meets the organization’s needsProvides end user support during implementation; able to serve as an application expert to assist in application roll-outApplies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve system issues to maximize system potentialPerforms other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in Information services, health administration, business administration, health sciences or related field of studyTwo (2) years of Epic or integrated EMR experienceEpic Module Certification as required by the positionCPHIMS preferredPresentation skillsCommunication skillsInterpersonal skillsAbility to multi-taskCompany OverviewPrisma Health is the largest not-for-profit health organization in South Carolina, serving more than 1.2 million patients annually.
