[Remote] Environmental Project Manager

The Environmental Project Manager will manage various environmental compliance projects, oversee project operations, and ensure client needs are met while maintaining project profitability and compliance with regulations.ResponsibilitiesManage a variety of environmental compliance projects including but not limited to: Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans; Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans; Hazardous Waste Stream Determinations; Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste Management Plans; Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act ReportsAssuming Project Management responsibilities including being the senior technical lead, working with a project team to manage risk, meeting project profitability goals, and managing both the internal team performance and client expectationsResponsible for estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of company standardsCoordinates the day-to-day operations of technical staff assigned to projects by assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidanceConduct field work at client sites to collect data and conduct meetings and trainingsOversees development of project document deliverable outlines and layouts, technical writing of reports, data interpretation, and development of graphical presentations in a logical and professional mannerOverseeing administrative and financial aspects of Project Management including proposals, project set ups, forecasting, invoicing, and subcontractor managementActs as a client manager to understand customer needs and distributes work assignments and proposals to appropriate teams. Consults with clients to prepare plans, reports, and assessmentsCommunicates to leadership when potential issues are foreseen, or potential issues arise that may inhibit performing tasks within the allotted schedule and budgetOversees project set up and authorization paperwork to include: project authorizations, contracts, subcontracts, purchase order requests, and project schedulesOversees project financial management duties to include: project projections, project invoicing, subcontractor invoice approvals, progress reporting, and project/subcontractor contract complianceMaintain confidentiality at all timesExercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programsParticipate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team effortsKeep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshopsPerforming other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering or Environmental Studies; Advanced Degree preferred10+ years of related experience, including internships and/or related scientific/field of study experienceKnowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.)General knowledge of environmental compliance and/or environmental engineering principlesKnowledgeable of regulatory standards in an environmental technical areaStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and management skillsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to supervisorsOrganizational skills and attention to detailTeam player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesAbility to work well in a team-driven environmentAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leadersAbility to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classAdvanced Degree preferredOSHA 30-hour training preferredAbility to meet Level 2 Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) training requirements per EM 385-1-1 preferredCompany OverviewOnterris is a global environmental solutions company partnering with organizations to solve complex challenges where environmental pressures, regulatory expectations and operational risks intersect.
