[Remote] Enterprise Data Management Consultant

Ultra Consultants is seeking a seasoned and strategic Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Lead Consultant to guide their mid-market manufacturing and distribution clients through critical data transformation initiatives. The role focuses on leading client engagements across the full data lifecycle and advising clients on aligning data strategy with business goals. Responsibilities • Lead EDM consulting engagements across all four service areas: Data Diagnostic, Data Cleansing, Data Conversion, and Data Strategy & Governance • Conduct data assessments to evaluate current-state data quality, structure, and usage • Design and execute data cleansing strategies to normalize and enrich client data sets • Develop and manage data conversion plans aligned with ERP implementation timelines • Collaborate with ERP vendors and implementation teams to ensure seamless data integration • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with client stakeholders to define data governance frameworks and master data management practices • Advise clients on aligning data strategy with business goals, compliance requirements, and scalability needs • Identify risks and opportunities related to data readiness and transformation success • Support clients in establishing sustainable data ownership and stewardship models • Contribute to the growth and refinement of Ultra’s EDM methodology and tools • Mentor junior consultants and support internal knowledge sharing • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ERP, AI Readiness, Business Process Improvement) to deliver integrated transformation solutions Skills • 7+ years of experience in data management, ERP implementation, or enterprise transformation consulting • Deep understanding of data lifecycle management, including data quality, cleansing, conversion, and governance • Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor) and data migration projects • Familiarity with data tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Excel, ETL tools, MDM solutions) • Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills • Ability to lead client engagements and manage stakeholder relationships across business and IT • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or equivalent related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience in manufacturing or distribution industries • Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) • Familiarity with AI, analytics, or automation initiatives • Certifications in data management, ERP systems, or project management (e.g., CDMP, PMP) • Master's Degree (MA) or equivalent, or four to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Company Overview • Ultra Consultants is an independent research and enterprise software consulting firm serving the manufacturing .
