[Remote] Engineering Manager - Language clients

They are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Language Clients team, responsible for building a high-output culture and shaping the product strategy for client libraries.ResponsibilitiesRecruit, coach, and develop a high-bar team; set crisp expectations and foster a culture of ownership, speed, and continuous improvementMentor engineers at all levels, create growth opportunities, and build psychological safety and a healthy, inclusive environment where engineers do their best workShape the product and execution strategy for language clients to stay ahead of 10x growthMake opinionated architectural decisions while maintaining a customer-focused, fast-shipping cultureEstablish measurable UX and developer experience benchmarks and own the roadmap to make ClickHouse client libraries best-in-class in the OLAP spaceLead expansion from core client libraries into a broader ecosystem: integrations, SDKs, partner tooling, and community-built extensionsEstablish and sustain effective collaboration with OSS communities: contribute, build relationships, and earn trust in public technical spacesRepresent ClickHouse externally at conferences, in community forums, and with partnersBuild productive relationships with product, developer relations, and sales engineering without losing engineering focusKnow when to protect team capacity and scope — and make that case clearly upwardSkills3+ years managing software engineers with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong talentDemonstrated ability to grow engineers into senior contributors and future leadsComfortable driving execution in ambiguous environments: setting crisp priorities and delivering impact without over-process10+ years of industry experience building developer-facing tools, open source software, or data-intensive systemsHands-on: you engage with technical designs, review code, and guide via technical feedbackDeep interest in staying on the technological edge - actively follows trends in developer tooling, data, and the OSS spaceExperience collaborating with open source communities and earning trust in public technical spacesTrack record of external representation: talks, blog posts, community engagement, or partner developmentStrong product ownership — capable of setting direction, not just executing itCustomer-centric: turns developer feedback into roadmap and ships fast with tight feedback loopsStartup experience preferredBenefitsFlexible work environment - ClickHouse is a globally distributed company and remote-friendly.
