[Remote] Engineering Manager, AI Platform

Forsyth Barnes is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on delivering AI-powered experiences across a mobile application and the underlying AI platform. This role involves managing technical delivery, team development, and ensuring the successful execution of AI-driven products at scale.ResponsibilitiesOwn roadmap planning, delivery predictability, and capacity management across the mobile application and AI platformDrive high-quality mobile releases across iOS and Android, with a strong focus on customer experience, frontend quality, and product deliveryLead, mentor, and develop a distributed engineering team through coaching, regular 1:1s, hiring, performance management, and clear accountabilityImprove application performance, stability, and deployment reliabilityEnsure backend APIs and service contracts remain stable and scalable to support efficient cross-team developmentOversee production-grade implementation of multi-agent systems, planning agents, retrieval architectures, model orchestration, and latency optimizationEstablish evaluation frameworks and regression testing processes to maintain consistency and quality as AI systems evolveDefine and enforce performance, reliability, and responsiveness standards across AI-powered productsMaintain clear architectural boundaries between platform services and core systems to support long-term scalability and maintainabilityReduce operational risk by improving documentation, team resilience, and knowledge sharingLead incident management, postmortems, and long-term remediation efforts for critical platform issuesPartner with Product, Data, and domain specialists to translate complex AI initiatives into actionable plans, quality safeguards, and measurable outcomesCommunicate progress, risks, and priorities effectively with leadership and cross-functional stakeholdersSkills7+ years of engineering management experience leading complex, business-critical systemsStrong people leadership experience, including coaching, hiring, performance management, and team developmentExperience managing mobile engineering teams, ideally delivering applications with React Native across iOS and AndroidStrong frontend and product delivery mindset with experience leading customer-facing mobile experiencesExperience leading AI infrastructure, AI platforms, or distributed backend engineering teams handling sensitive or mission-critical workloadsFamiliarity with multi-agent systems, planning agents, retrieval architectures, model orchestration, and machine learning-powered production environmentsStrong backend engineering foundation, preferably in TypeScript or a comparable technology stackDemonstrated success improving engineering execution, delivery predictability, and operational disciplineExperience establishing architectural standards and maintaining clear system boundariesAdvanced user of AI and LLM-based tools for planning, communication, workflow optimization, and operational effectivenessStrong proficiency with project management and documentation platforms such as Jira, Confluence, or similar toolsExperience leading fully remote and distributed engineering teamsExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear operational plans for non-technical stakeholdersCompany OverviewSpecialists in mid to executive level appointments across FinTech, eTail and Sports & Entertainment industries.
