The Business Development Manager will be responsible for promoting and supporting a dedicated portfolio of solutions, managing industry approvals, and collaborating with internal sales teams and external stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesLead promotion and specification (1st Sale) activities in collaboration with commercial sales and technical team membersDevelop and maintain relationships with key design/specifying engineers, agencies, and customers to promote and develop projectsMaintain CRM with 1st Sale Projects and track through to 2nd Sale transition to commercial sales groupParticipate in various local professional associations to develop Maccaferri brand recognition in regionCoordinate and deliver technical designs (preliminary and final) in collaboration with external partnersPromote software tools relevant to product design, ensuring client adoption and effective useProvide estimating assistance for high-level projects/value-engineering opportunities including budgetary quotesSupport and maintain State & Provincial DOT approvals, while also driving new evaluations and inclusionTrack market trends and project opportunities, relaying intelligence to product and commercial leadershipPresent technical content at trade shows, lunch-and-learns, and professional seminarsWork with regional technical & commercial sales to develop projects and specs:Supporting engineers in key applications and solutionsSupporting industry approval processes (ASTM, state-level)Delivering preliminary and final technical designsPromoting design software for client useAssisting in project estimating and value-engineeringLeading efforts to gain and maintain product approvals within DOT and other regulatory agenciesSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related technical discipline, licensed PE preferredMinimum 3 years of experience in geosynthetics or civil infrastructure technical sales, design, or supportStrong technical understanding of geosynthetics, geotechnical and civil engineering applicationsEffective collaboration with internal sales, engineering, and marketing teamsOrganized and analytical approach to business development and product promotionProven leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilitiesStrong planning, organizational, and project management capabilitiesAbility to work independently while effectively working with other team membersWillingness to travel regionally as required. Travel >50% travelApplicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
