The role involves building a specialized team, establishing governance frameworks, and driving initiatives to improve efficiency and enhance engineering workflows.ResponsibilitiesDefine the technical architecture and long-term roadmap for analytics, automation tools, data workflows, and AI/ML developmentLead and manage the division’s portfolio of engineering analytics and automation tools to support organizational goalsDrive continuous improvement and innovation across engineering systems and capabilitiesEstablish and enforce centralized governance for tools, scripts, datasets, and AI/ML models, ensuring strong lifecycle management, documentation, version control, and cyber-secure development practicesMonitor adherence to governance standards, performing audits and escalating noncompliance as neededOwn the technical IP lifecycle from concept through protection readinessCoordinate with engineering, IT, and Legal to ensure technical soundness, completeness, and defensibilityPrioritize and evaluate IP and tool productization opportunities, providing recommendations and supporting customer-discovery activitiesBuild, develop, and mentor a specialized technical team focused on data science, analytics, automation, and AI/MLManage performance, support employee development, and contribute to hiring, training, and cross-trainingAnalyze engineering workflows and perform process mapping to identify opportunities for automation, data enhancement, analytics, and AI/ML deploymentChampion solutions that increase efficiency, quality, and engineering decision-making capabilityPrepare and deliver executive-level reports on IP status, technical risks, emerging technologies, and development progressDefine and track KPIs related to tool adoption, portfolio impact, efficiency, quality, commercial readiness, and IP progressionMaintain strong partnerships with internal teams, customers, and vendors to support division goals and uphold MEPPI’s professional imageSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of experience in engineering analytics, software/tool development, or data/AI/ML initiativesMinimum 3 years of management or technical leadership experience, or equivalent education and experienceDemonstrated experience with automation, scripting, analytics, or engineering tool developmentExperience defining or guiding technical architecture, development standards, and governance frameworksFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts, data engineering workflows, and analytics methodologies used in engineering environmentsStrong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsBenefitsComprehensive Health Coverage: 90% company-paid medical, dental, and vision benefits.Retirement Plans: 401(k) with company match up to 4%.Generous Paid Time Off: Vacation accrual after 90 days + 12 paid holidays.Career Development: Robust training programs, professional development, and educational assistance.Employee Perks: Profit sharing, fitness center access, and wellness programs.Company OverviewMitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. is an Electronic Manufacturing firm that manufactures electric power & electronic technologies.
