[Remote] Embedded Linux Engineering Lead

They are seeking an Embedded Linux Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership and hands-on development for their embedded Linux platform.ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day technical and execution leadership for the embedded Linux functionTranslate platform goals into actionable work, set priorities, coordinate assignments, review technical direction, and ensure the team remains focused on the most important near-term objectivesContribute directly to bootloader, kernel, device tree, root filesystem, build system, update system, board bring-up, debugging, and release workWork closely with hardware, firmware, QA, manufacturing, security, and application software teams to deliver reliable Linux-based productsProgressively take on more formal leadership responsibilities, including planning, mentoring, hiring input, performance feedback, and team ownershipSkillsStrong embedded Linux experience on custom hardware platformsWillingness to lead a small technical team of embedded engineersStrong C, Python, and/or shell scripting skillsPractical experience with Linux kernel configuration, device trees, bootloaders, root filesystems, board support packages, and build systems (e.g. Buildroot, Yocto, etc)Proven ability to debug low-level hardware/software integration issuesClear written and verbal communicationPrior experience as a technical lead, team lead, or senior engineer responsible for coordinating other engineersExperience with secure boot, signed updates, encrypted storage, or device identityExperience with production update systems for embedded Linux: SWUpdate, RAUC, Mender, Hawkbit, or similarExperience with production concerns for Linux devices: image generation, factory provisioning, diagnostics, or manufacturing testExperience with ARM SoCs, NXP i.MX, Xilinx/Zynq/Kria, FPGA SoCs, or similar platformsBenefitsGenerous time off policiesCompetitive compensationVolunteer opportunitiesReward and recognition programsEmployee committees & resource groupsHealthcare and retirement benefitsHybrid-flexible approach to support your productivity and work-life balanceCompany OverviewMagnet Forensics develops digital forensics software to help investigate cyberattacks and digital crimes.
