[Remote] Electrical Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Amatriot Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support mission-critical electrical and control system sustainment and modernization efforts within a DoD environment. The role involves providing hands-on expertise in PLC-based control systems and ensuring continuity of system knowledge as an understudy to a retiring government engineer.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and maintain Ladder Logic for programmable logic controllers (PLCs)Integrate and support Allen-Bradley PLC platforms using Rockwell Automation software toolsPerform system integration using Studio 5000 / CompactLogix environments (version 21 or later)Develop and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD ElectricalSupport Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, review, and troubleshootingTroubleshoot electrical and control system issues at the system and subsystem levelAssemble, test, and validate electrical and control system assembliesSupport LabVIEW-based control and data acquisition systemsProvide technical knowledge transfer and documentation in support of workforce successionSupport limited FPGA-based integration as required (non-primary responsibility)Communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations to engineering and program leadershipSkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related disciplineMust have experience with Allen-Bradley PLCsProven experience developing and troubleshooting Ladder Logic–based control systemsExperience using Rockwell Automation software tools (e.g., Studio 5000 / CompactLogix)Experience developing electrical schematics using AutoCAD ElectricalExperience troubleshooting electrical and control system issuesExperience assembling and testing electrical or control system hardwareAbility to work independently in a remote environmentStrong written and verbal technical communication skillsEligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD clearanceExperience with LabVIEW-based control systemsExperience with FPGA integration or mixed FPGA/PLC environmentsExperience supporting legacy control systems and modernization effortsPrior experience supporting government or defense programsCompTIA Security+ desired, must obtain within 90 days of startingCompany OverviewThe Amatriot Group (formerly Government Tactical Solutions) is a talent solutions firm built on almost 15 years of experience delivering mission-critical support to the intelligence, defense, and national security sectors of the federal government.
