They are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design building electrical systems, particularly for healthcare projects, while providing opportunities for professional growth and leadership responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standardsProvide engineering planning, design, and construction administration services for: Power distribution systems, Lighting and lighting control systems, Fire alarm systems, Nurse Call systems, Other low voltage systemsPerform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditionsPrepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documentsAuthor engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documentsCoordinate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplinesParticipate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentationsSupport construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination as neededAssist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project executionSkillsBachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of electrical design experienceProficiency in electrical engineering calculations, including: Lighting photometric calculations, Voltage drop analysis, Short‑circuit and overcurrent protection coordination studies, Load CalculationsProficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft OfficeStrong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and design guidelinesHigh level of attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracyExcellent work ethic with a proactive, solution‑oriented attitudeStrong written and verbal communication skillsEffective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksAbility to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamComfortable engaging with clients and presenting technical information in a clear and professional mannerExperience with healthcare, science and technology, education, and/or commercial buildings is strongly preferredKnowledge of and experience with HCAI / OSHPD standards is a plusProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredLEED accreditation or sustainable design experience preferredBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and basic life insuranceA 401(k) planThe ability to purchase company stock at a discountBoth U.S. and Canadian (PTO) plans for full-time salaried, exempt and non-team members10 paid holidaysPaid leave programs for military service and new parentsMerit increasesPerformance discretionary bonusStockCompany OverviewSalas O'Brien is a national leading Facilities Planning, Commissioning, Construction Management and Mechanical, Electrical.
